Some subtle solar lamps like you have on your existing deck would be good though.
I will put in the Mushroom accent lamps between the ballusters like the current deck anyway. These would be for illumination of the walkway for people walking out there after dark.
What about adding along the lower rail so its more like runway lights in a theatre?
The red illumination really is more for people to see it and not hit it with their boat(s). I am quite a ways out into what used to be the traffic lanes. To that end, it could be low like you say, but there is a natural lip under the cap of the rail that mechanically works. Under the lower railing is a tougher installation. The lights could be a cool blue too...
It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....
I don't know, for some reason I'm not into bright colors on my home unless it's christmas or my birthday.
Well, know this... I have the 12-volt incandescent mushroom lamps already, and have already built in spots in the walkway and ramp to mount them like shown below. These are paid for, and they may suffice, but they are going on and in anyway.
The LED will likely be later, if at all. Gotta heal up from this big expenditure first... Was playing and thought it looked like fun to pimp it out all Neon-like... I might even just "glow" the dock and leave the walkway lit with the incandescents.
