It will get worse! Just think, they are claiming that gas is really cheap compared to other commodities!

Thanks! It is fun, but hard work. I like to do things solo, (personal enrichment and challenge) so most of what you see there is all my work by my hands only. I had a buddy come cut some parts while I was stuck on the underside of the walkway one day last week, and I had a neighbor come help me stab the hinge bolts on the ramp Saturday morning.

The anchor poles for the floating section are 30' drill stem pipe joints. I am going to have to build a crane out of a pair of 20' 2x6 and a block and tackle to set the poles...

That looks great Phil, now you've got one of the few docks that are floating on that lake, did the water level come up at all with all the rain the last few weeks?

Are you going to use some type of grip tape on the ramp? I would think about painting it with rhino liner or LineX or something like that, it'll last longer than grip tape.

a little, but they are still pumping too, so we have come up, maybe 10 inches is all

I am debating it. The ramp angle should only be an issue at these extreme low-level conditions; otherwise the drop will only be 2-3 ft over a run of 16 feet. That is an easy slope for anyone. That being said, I have some non-skid paint left over from doing the decks of my sailboat. Kiwi-Grip is the product name. I am seriously considering letting the ramp dry out a little and then I am going to mask every other board or so and do the Kiwi-Grip non-skid straight on the wood. It will look great and last a long time too.

The good news is that instead of sitting on the ground like everyone else, I now have 5 feet of water under the west edge of my dock... I can park the big sailboat there even in current drought conditions.... (just can't get it in the water right now...)

Good idea painting every other board, that would look nice. I guess the upside to the drought is that you were able to design your dock to be usable even in the bad drought conditions, you should be set for many years of up and down water levels.
