If we go Denali would be a '07 or '08.

If we go Durango maybe a year old. Caravan about a year old or new.

The only Ford with the tow capacity in my rangs is a truck or the Excursion. The truck is out. If I by a truck it will just get converted to work in a year or two. Maybe sooner. The Excursion is a gas hog with the V10 and desiel is getting over $4.00.
Gas and diesel are $4 here

My main goal is to seat 6 comfortable. Next is towing. Work would like something that is newer and good mpg.

I am thinking Denali XL too. Maybe the Tahoe XL.

But I am leaning towards an Escalade ESV.

I like the extra legnth the XL and ESV offer.

I guess if your down this way you can come see it. Or if I make it that way you and your wife can check it out. If you tell her I am safe to hang out with.

Can the Caravan tow over 5000lbs?

I kind of classify the Denali XL and ESV as pretty much the same. IDK if the Tahoe comes in a 6.2. I think you have to get the Denali or ESV in '07 or newer, IIRC

I am also looking at the Nissan Armada and last on the list is a Suburban.

Of course none of these get that good of milage. But Oh well.

I am also going to write it of as a business vehical.

I don't think so. The Durango with Hemi can. If I went with the caravan it would be more for carrying the family and stuff, no towing.

The great thing about the Denali XL is from 07 and up they all have the 6.2L engine and the 6 speed transmission. I had one for a little while and it towed like a dream! You can forget about good gas mileage though. Going to get low teens in the city, mid teens on the hwy and maybe 10 mpg towing.

You are correct on the engine size. I like the Escalade however they are similar. At lesst in the frame and running gear. I like the look of the Escalade. The Denali's are just a fraction cheaper in the years I am looking at.

I have been looking at the used Denali's with low miles. They are few and far between. I need low miles because I put 30 - 40K plus on a year.

Escalade EXT will probably be my next tow vehicle.

Understood. Fuel burn towing sucks with all of them.
