I may have used the wrong terminology. The meant the piece on the outside of the boat that moves the plate up and down.

Cool!, How much fuel is burned on takeoff of a 767? Iwndr every time we take off.

I think it is best to have Taps all the way up to minimize the fluid loss.

The pump is mounted to the bracket by 4 screws on the vertical plate. You just loosen the screws, don't need to take them out. I happen to have the mount right here, so here's a pic.

besides the screws, there is one electrical connector and the hydraulic line. I would put a plastic garbage bag under the pump before disconnecting the line (there are two nuts (7/16 on the pump body and 1/2 on the hyd line). Hold the 7/16 and loosen the 1/2. I stuffed the loose end of hyd line in a plastic bag with paper towel and taped it around the line to minimize leaks.

oops, I call that the actuator. I have not removed that part. I am sure it is not too bad, but there is sealant around where the hydraulic hose goes through the transom. Don't know what it is, how hard to remove and replace.

Yeah that's the answer I'm looking for. AJ did it but I haven't seen him around in a bit.

767 engines are burning 25K lbs/hr each at takeoff. That lasts for less than 5 minutes (that's about 750 gallons to get to 10,000 feet.)

                This seems simple enough.

I just had mine replaced.... Three screws, and a WHOLE lot of adhesive.

They had to replace the whole taps because tige doesn't just sell the seal. So I got a whole new unit installed last week.

I called Tige about it last year and they sent me to Bennett.

I don't know all the details.... It was warranty work, cause there was hydraulic fluid leaking onto the taps plate.
