One thing I noticed on my stereo, it will not come on unless I have the factory battery switch to on. Is that normal? I would've though that it is on the house battery and doesn't matter if that switch is on or not.

Yes, because the key switch is powered by the cranking battery.

Do you have Kicker amps? One of the reasons I went with the ZXM was because I have that 700.5 with the bass controller. If I didn't have the bass controller, I would have went with a 420 and spent the extra cash.

What amps and size wire do you have? The factory only runs 8 gauge power to the factory Kicker 700.5 which is not big enough. I am pretty sure that my system is louder after swapping that 8 gauge out for 0 gauge and a dist block.
