Im lost without the PW thread!!!!

hey CHP (and all) im looking at getting new tower speakers for the ve, i was looking at the HLCD's from wetsounds and exile as well as the kicker KM6500.2's but i would really like to put whatever i find in chrome cans that somewhat match the stock kicker cans from 07.... any advice?

1st off, if its a plastic pod that chrome plated, it will not last very long. The Chinese imported polished aluminum pods, like from DIY, scratch easy and the finish doesn't last. So, to get a quality "chrome" pod, a good portion of the total cost will be just for the pods.

Out of those 3, the Kickers are the only ones sold as raw drivers, except the Wet sounds Pro696. Pair those up with whats used to be the Alpha-II pods and drive them with a Syn-2 or bridged on a Kicker IX500.4.

Got all my drain pumps in tonight along with the vent and drain hoses. Just need to finish my fill lines and carpet my new dividers!!!

Just finished up the boat this past weekend, and was actually out playing with the stereo today. I posted a video.

The quick disconnects are great! I store my boat down the street, and this way I can take the cans off for travel and when I put it away for the week.

I hate to steer you toward a potential competitor, but Star One make what used to be called the Alpha-I and II Chrome pods that used to come on the CC's and Bu's. IMP, they are the best Chrome pods out there. They will fit the Wet Sounds Pro696 or the Kicker KM6500.2 drivers. The Syn-2 you have will drive either of those setups perfectly. Both are HLCD and will sound good when close in.

The Kickers have a lot of mid-bass due to the pair of 6.5 continuous cone drivers and the Pro696's are voiced closer to the new REV series and not as "bright" as the older Pro80.

okay do you think the older pro 80's would fit in one of those cans?? i just want to keep the "classy" look.. the new speaker cans IMO look gawdy.. guess im the only person that likes keeping it simple

No, you cant get the Pro80 as a raw driver. it comes in its own pod. If want black, I have a set!
