Great link to the refurb page. After listening to a podcast called "CNET to the Rescue" for the last few years I've been convinced that refurb is the way to go with Apple. If you read the conditions of an Apple refurb, they clean and test every part before shipping with new cables and documentation. Many new computers and iPads are not fully tested in production, just a sample is tested, where as all refurbs are fully tested. If they fail a test they are either fixed and retested or recycled and not sold. If its a refurb iPhone or iPad, they install a new battery in the refurbs too.
I also have the Magic Trackpad and love it. I'm using it right now with my laptop. My wife prefers a regular mouse so she uses the standard Mighty Mouse with the iMac at home. When she gets better with the trackpad I think she'll be a convert.
