I thought the boat made me get in contorted positions. The car has been a pain, I guess that was why I procrastinated. Got the part off and sent the wife to get the new one that is on hold.

Thats usually about the point they are tight. Take the pliers and bit them sideways to put the two rows of teeth back in line with each other.

I will go do that, well after the car is done and I get out of the greasy clothes.

I only broke one of the littler clamps.

When I was fishing in the mess of wires for the battery I noticed that I had not zip tied one of the wires (I had taped the ones that went to the house battery when I removed them the first time. At the end of last season I zip tied all the wires together that went to each connection). I may have just missed it but if not, meaning that I did not connect it last year when I put the batteries in what would have happened. It was labeled isolator and goes to the house battery.

If it is the heavy 4 awg wire, the alternator feeds the isolator and there is one wire to each battery from the isolator. If it is not connected, the house battery would not charge.

That is what I read in doing some searching. I believe that it charged so it must have been hooked up.
