Agreed. I had two Dodges... The first one quit on a Friday morning as I was trying to hook up to my yellow speed boat to go to Tenkiller. Took it to the dealership and they told me the computer had gone out and it was going to be almost two-grand to repair. So I bought a new Dodge that day.

This second one was a 4WD. Didn't need 4WD and never used it but it was the truck on the lot I liked so oh well. At 36,500 miles, the front end was making all sorts of nasty noises. turns out the splined axle shafts and couplers were shot! 500 miles after warranty expired. I was very vocal and beat them up for a lowered repair bill and got it, but it still was not cheap and it still drove me nuts to think that something I never used had worn out so quickly.

So, I kept the truck until the tranny started acting funny, and it was not long..... It would shift erratically, and going down the highway sometimes it would just jump out of overdrive. Talk about scary having this hung CLUNK and then seeing your tach jump.

I traded that pos and got back into the Blue Oval and have been pretty darned happy.

Dodges are nice.. as cars.... driven as cars only.... and only until they break. They don't break cheap ever.
      It's not an optical illusion.
      It just looks like one.....

Every manufacturer will have vehicles with issues. My FIL's Ford was having over a grand a month put into it and it never got fixed. I have had my Dodge since Sept 1999 and it has over 130,000 which are all almost towing miles, it would have more but like I said it is mainly used for towing. I have only had to change oil filter and at that they are not at regular intervals. I have hauled some very heavy loads and I am not talking about two miles. I have hauled 500 - 600 miles in the rockies and I don't tow like a grandpa.

All I know is I put about 40-50K a year on my trucks, trade them in at 100K All they ever need is oil and filters. I also am responsible for +- 30 other trucks that are driven by employees, the company I work for has about 1000 or so trucks. I can only speak for the ones I take care of and I look at them and some employees trucks are beat to $hit but they are still mechanically sound, last year two went into the shop, on for a heater switch and the other needed a new rear end that one had 90,000 on it All of them have the Blue Oval in front

For my personal vehicles I have had nothing but Fords with zero issues since 1984 after I blew up a engine in a chevy

That possibly could have been my fault
