I am hertz gold and got a Nissan Versa. Hand crank windows and locks. Broken parts and not full of gas. Wasn't happy.

I have been a gold Member for many years and generally had good luck. The Subaru only has 400 miles so I guess I can't complain too much. I had a Mustang convertible last trip and hated it.

We rented a rag-top pony on our trip to Maui and loved it. Of course it was just the two of us. Only put the top up when the left the car alone

I had to fly into Twin Falls, ID for work once to meet a guy and do some scans on an existing bridge. Well, I happened to miss my flight (long story, but basically I fell asleep in the chair right in front of the boarding gate...and woke up just as they closed the door to the jetway bridge...and they refused to reopen it "per FAA regulations" ). Caught the next flight, getting into TF late. Rental car place didn't have my reserved midsize car anymore, but was friendly and put me into an upgrade with no additional charge. A fricken Ford Excursion.

When I pulled up to the site, the customer looked at my rig with a little concern and asked just how large the equipment was, since I was the only one there to operate it. I pulled out the scanner, about the size of large laptop, and just told him that I like to travel in style. Didn't impress him too much, since he flew his private plane to the meeting.
