If you really need something portable the MB air is very nice but that 64G solid state HD will be maxed out very quickly, go with at least the 128G hard drive. If you can, get into a store and play with them. I love my 27" iMac because it's like a dual screen monitor. I can have a web page open on half the screen and a word document or excel open on the other half of the screen, it's a great work flow. Try them both out at an apple store or best buy and see which one works for you.

BTW, if it were me I'd go with at least the 128G 13" MacBook Air but just keep the standard 4G of Ram, you won't need more than 4 unless your rendering video.

I'm running windows 7 with boot camp on my iMac. We usually keep the computer running on Lion but switch every once in a while so she can check webmail and get on the portal and do personnel work.

I have 8 gigs of ram in my MB Pro, and I LOVE IT! I do a lot of heavy lifting, and it's always great to have that extra RAM.
