He may have been better off buying used. He is the same one wanting to skimp on the trailer. New is nice but it might make more sense to start with what your budget is and go from there.

If he does get a boat he will be complaining about gas, insurance, taxes, cost to get into lakes, etc...

That would suck to have a boat that I wasn't happy with and had to sit in the garage / driveway because I couldn't afford to take it out.

I would like a new boat every year, that's just not realistic.

I looked for about 4 years before getting one. Yeah I missed several summers but I don't regret it.

I looked for a while too before I literally stumbled on my RZ, it was a leftover and I couldn't pass it up. I still had the wife look at it, crawl around inside it with me and do some on water testing with it and other competing brands.

We also toured the factory before we bought the tige, it's only 3hr drive from my house in TX.
