More than that. If I remember right, I've been paying around $750 or so for the full annual service.

The parts and fluids have probably cost me only $150 or so for that work this year. (And I've gotten a few tools, but I can keep using them.)

Then, the cable - no parts markup and no labor charge. Hell, I've probably saved $1000 this winter. That's worth an awful lot of aggrevation and scraped up arms.

I think they quoted me $275 to put a cable in...if/when I ever need it. I think the key is to make sure that the bilge is dry since it lays on the floor. Maybe Bu has their's elevated or something.

I'm sure it's the same cable, don't know.

Iwndr if their impellar or steering cable went out, causing them to drift onto the reef?

Mine has been dry since I've had it but when I got it there was a water line inside the hull and about 6" up on the Gas tank. Thats always worried me a bit. I've never really looked on a Bu but I also never had to worry about them on my stern drives. And a couple of those were not power assist

Yeah, a marked reef off the coast of New Zealand. It has been stuck for several months. A storm caused the ship to break up this weekend.
