I would try to find the smallest oil-filled radiant heater available. No open element, even soft heat, and the element is submersed and sealed, so unlikely to fail. Set it at lowest power setting and turn the thermostat so that it will just maintain about 40* F.
Then all you gotta worry about is a big electrical outage that keeps you without power for days....
Great - thanks for the info, Phil. I'll keep my eyes open for that type. And I don't think I need to worry about hydrogen settling down in the hull. Sweet.
