Where did you connect the ground? Is is a clean/paint free spot?

With only 5 4-Ohm speakers, that amp should not be overheating.

I'm assuming overheating. As it only happens on long trips at high volumes.

My ZX700.5 does the same thing. After pushing it at > 50% volume for awhile, it will shut down and it's too hot to touch. Luckily for me, I can usually just flip up the bow cushion and get it some air and it comes back on in a few minutes and is good for awhile.

Since its while I'm driving I can't go check it. So I usually shut off the hu for a few minutes and it comes back for a while.
