Believe it or not ITOLS, it has never been when I could take it nor did it use to mandatory. I am going to be bored. I have wanted to do Woodbadge.

Besides that I am getting boys to my group that are either first class or about there.

I get a kick out of their mandatory trainings. Supposedly it is not about the money but the safety of the boys. I have seen guys come sign in then leave and get credit for the training and the instructors are well aware. Go figure.

They said the goal of ITOLS was so that a leader, they should have stated two leaders, can take 11 or 12 year old boys camping and bring them back safe. I guess my last 8+ years of camping almost every month in every kind of weather condition doesn't count for much. I haven't lost a boy, yet. Not to say that there aren't some that I wouldn't mind losing.

My group thinks that I am one of the strictest meanest. In the end they all like me and we have had a great safe time.

We used to have something similar, but different name. I used to be an instructor for those here. It was fun to teach all the new moms/dads that fallowed their kid up from cubs
