WOW! Out of curiousity I called the VW dealership for a quote on injector pump replacement.
$1250 for the pump with a core replacement
$950 labor
I ordered a new seal kit from dieselgeek for $22 and a special socket for the tamper screw for $21. Spent 45minutes watching an online video of how to replace the seals on the car and no need to fiddle with timing.

BTW, most Jersey girls not that impressive, except my wife
