I thought we already paid for your gas money...

We burn about 10,000 lbs/hr. That's about 1,499 gal/hr. In 2008 we were paying about 2 bucks a gallon, so thats about 3,000 bucks an hour in fuel alone. I'm sure fuel is a little more expensive than that now. Plus my training and Mx guys to train and fix the old birds, you can see how it gets expensive.

On the subject of my pay, did you know I pay taxes too? Somewhere in the IRS there are many nickels that are paid to me that I turn around and pay back to the government. It's a vicious cycle of me paying myself. I wish we could cut some administrative costs and just not have govt employees pay taxes. That would mean a pay cut so I take home the same amount now, so in theory, they don't need to waste time and money processing my tax filling.

Of course I know the above will never happen. Govt employees need to pay taxes so they feel the same obligation to the general taxpayer to not waste money...

I think I read somewhere that some scientists in England tried to do this with a heard of cows, to try to measure the impact of farm animals on global warming. Then someone was going to commercialize it and sell the methane gas or use it to power the farms electrical needs.

This is no joke, I actually read this somewhere, I'll try to dig up the article when I have more time. Hoing ain't easy.
