I was amazed at how much better my system sounded with just the ZXMRLC! It's either that or the replacement of the 8ga power wire that Tige used for the 700.5 with 0 gauge. My gains are in the same spot they have always been (about 10 o'clock) and I can turn the Clarion head unit up to 29/30 now and the ZXM knob maxed with no distortion and the stereo is waaaay louder than it has ever been.

Wire aside, teh ZXM-RLC is a bad-azz preamp/line driver and I too think it helps. I can;t explain it within the laws of physics, but it just seems to give mroe life and headroom to a stock system... There is no logical explanation but hey, it works....It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....

Phil, I don't know how I got 8ga, it was a factory install stereo too. I never really paid attention before I pulled it out but then after I was like .
