really getting pissed off at the weather forecasts...I'm thinking that the marina owners must be paying off the NWS system to give them better forecasts than they deserve on weekends
both yesterday and today, the forecasts called for light winds in the AM, picking up around noon....and yet the lake was covered with whitecaps when we arrived at the marina around 7:30AM
this has happened over and over this summer...something smells fishy

did a little skiing and boarding both days, but more surfing and tubing than anything
I was finally going wireless today for about a minute at a time today
can't do anything except try to stay up and in the pocket...but at least I'm getting somewhereComment

so...after I had been making runs today, keeping the rope slack and starting to feel comfortable, I finally made the decision to try to drop the rope for the first time
I dropped it, felt good, was going great...and the boat stopped
when I asked why, the spotter said, "well, you dropped the rope like a skiier or boarder does when they are done with their run, so I thought that you wanted to quit"

in fact, as my wife puttered around to pick me up once, some guy in an older Malibu yelled at her about ruining the water by surfing and they hated the rollers....I pointed at the five other boats that were all surfing around this guy, like we were the only ones roiling the water
