been a busy couple of days

Dinglets' team won the Tournament of Champions on Fri night. They beat the team that had beaten them in the first game of the tourney. Score was 10-4, I think, but it seemed like an even more lopsided victory. Our team played awesome defense, with only a couple mistakes that allowed their runs. Our offense was OK....but good enough. Baseball season is now over. Kids definitely want to keep playing in the future. I'm sure it doesn't hurt their interest that they won two championships in their first year - their league and a five league district. It's been a good time for them.

So, after the team finished the awards ceremony, we headed to a nearby bar/restaurant with several parents, coaches, and kids. Must've had ten kids still in uniform, and we took over the center part of the room with the bar. A couple other patrons laughed that it was like Bad News Bears - with the kids all hanging out at a bar

Headed to the lake yesterday. I didn't get squat for sleep because I had to gather all the gear, equip, supplies, etc. But just glad to finally hit the water. It was supposed to be light breeze until noon, but the wind was already blowing when we hit the ramp.

Wind all day made for crappy water. Spent majority of the day with the boat tied to the marina's dock, and us hanging out on a friend's houseboat in a slip. But we did go out for about 3-4 hours with 8 kids and 3 adults on board for a session of choppy water tubing and surfing. Sort of - the kids that were trying surfing looked more they were wakeskating because they were leaning back hard with tension on the rope and staying way outside away from the wake. Oh, well. Kids all seemed to have smiles on their faces as we returned back to the houseboat.

Made for a long day, as we didn't get home until 9:00 last night. At least everything mechanically was working well on the boat.

When we were headed back to load up yesterday we saw a red corvette boat. We were still cleaning up when it pulled away. It had a wedge. Anybody know if the 'vette boat was a Bu specialty?

Yes - it was a Malibu model. Didn't you ever see the MC youtube ads that compare MC to the competition? Like the one with the guy in an MC shirt that he put tape on it to spell Tige?

Anyway...one of those they poke fun at that boat, calling it a Corbu...and a Malivette.
