I've always thought that the way the batteries were arranged in my boat was crappy. They were crammed in the space crooked, the lids couldn't fit down properly on the battery boxes, and the shelf they were on was not level. So, I found something interesting when I pulled them to install the charger leads.

Do you see the odd carpeted thing in the back right corner? A red cable comes out from behind it...

I noticed that that thing was preventing the cranking batt from being straight in there. I tried to figure out what it was - a chase for cabling or something? Nope. It didn't do anything, and didn't go anywhere. I was stumped. Then I realized that it moved. But it was a heavy SOB. And its weight had caused the starboard battery shelf to bend down into the corner, thus the unlevel shelf.

      98 pounds of carpeted lead.

Placed there either by the factory or by the dealer during delivery prep.

      Here it is.

It looks like your swim platform is angled up as well, is that the case?

He bought his boat used didn't he? I think he said something along the lines of it being installed because it might have had a list to it as well...
                        Waiting for another good one!

yes, but it just doesnt make much sense, we have invasive seaweed in our lake and stay there for the summer so i couldnt use any ballast without being a complete dickhead, we trailer twice a year, once in the spring to the lake and back home in the fall. i plan on scooping up the rope and hanging on tight any time i see the cop but ive been fighting to change this, and the WSIA is on my side if i need help
