I use a different mix of anti freeze/water in the summer> 1 part anti freeze to 3 parts distilled'. As everyone knows water is a better coolant....so I try to get away with as much water as possible

I replaced the hose that I saw was leaking. But it still seems like my temp is fluctuating a lot. It may be because I am still a little low on coolant.

But my car also has DexCool in it which I keep reading online, SUCKS! I need to go out and check my oil and make sure there is no antifreeze in it. I keep reading about how DexCool is notorious for eating away your intake gasket... and thats the last thing I need to happen.

I want to flush it out and replace it with the normal green antifreeze but I'm not sure how much work this will actually entail.

Dont believe everything you read on the Internet Dex has been out for 10-12 years and EVERY one is using it, and I have never heard of it related to any gasket failures. What engine do you have, 3.1 V6?

Drain antifreeze out of the radiator and block.Backflush with water hose.If you have over 100,000 miles replace thermostat.GET 2 Gallons of antifreeze and 2 gallons of distilled water.PUT DRAIN PLUG BACK IN BLOCK AND CLOSE PETCOCK ON RADIATOR.Pour in one gallon of antifreeze and one gallon of distilled water.Pour half the antifreeze in the first empty antifreeze container.Then fill both half full containers with distilled water.You may only need some but you will have 50/50 mix if you ever need it.
