So with all you over achievers c/o your impellers I figured I'd get one on Friday, so I called the dealer to see if they had one. The parts guy and mechanics were gone for the day ?????? It was only 3:00 and is this not a busy time of the year for boat shops??????
Any way I guess i'll change it out next week if I can find one"Failing to prepare is preparing to fail" John Wooden- Rest in Peace

so check this out -
I've always thought that the way the batteries were arranged in my boat was crappy. They were crammed in the space crooked, the lids couldn't fit down properly on the battery boxes, and the shelf they were on was not level. So, I found something interesting when I pulled them to install the charger leads.
Do you see the odd carpeted thing in the back right corner? A red cable comes out from behind it...
I noticed that that thing was preventing the cranking batt from being straight in there. I tried to figure out what it was - a chase for cabling or something? Nope. It didn't do anything, and didn't go anywhere. I was stumped. Then I realized that it moved. But it was a heavy SOB. And its weight had caused the starboard battery shelf to bend down into the corner, thus the unlevel shelf.

I can only assume that it was placed to try to even out the wake. But placing it where they did really effed up my battery shelf.Last edited by dingleberry; 05-15-2011, 04:48 AM.

So, I did not place the lead back in the same spot. This allowed me to straighten the batteries and also to have enough room to place the battery charger on the back of the battery access panel.
(but the battery shelf is still out-of-level)
Oh - for now, I just put the lead in the bottom corner of the locker.
