I agree, but would ask did he get anything for brokering the deal? If he did then I would think he is somewhat responsible or has a role in this. Did he get pictures from the seller and see the actual condition? Is he trying to help the buyer out?

Don't know the situation but would hate to be in it.

At the end of the day, as sad as it is, it falls on the buyer to make sure of what he is buying. If an "As-is" was signed by the buyer with out looking at the boat, then i hate it. He should have looked it over. I dont see how the boat was listed in an add holding any water either. The seller could simply say "for a 6 yr old boat, I think the condition is amazing"

Was the inspector only hired to check the drive-train/engine? Ir does his agreement include structural and cosmetic. If it does, then the brunt would fall back on him.

He moved over to WW and flaming the broker there, but yet no mention of the actual seller

That is why I hate buying things sight unseen and typically will not. I have a tough time ordering anything off of the internet, too many people looking for a quick buck.

Too many times I have gone to see something and it was not at all what they said it to be. Glad I was just looking. White truck that is black, 3/4 ton that is 1/2 ton, 4 wheel drive that is 2 wheel drive, excellent condition that has rust holes, etc....

It does seem that it is the few that ruin it for the many. Glad I don't have to worry about looking for a wife online.

Yep, he described the Obama care just like the boat was, but what we got was a POS

I do not have experience with a vehicle broker, unless you consider a salesman at a dealership a broker. But for buying a house or insurance I have and if I have had any issue I could not go directly to the seller but had to go through the broker. I thought that was kind of dumb but the way it had to be. So if that is the same, has the broker done anything to help the buyer? Can the buyer go directly to the seller?

Anyways I feel bad for him but time to move on. BTW not pointing any fingers whereas I do not have all the facts more just questions.

Dr, are you related to your broker? Were you really born in Hawaii?

Why doesn't matt just post his side of the story, why does he need his name deleted? We give props to good dealers and deals here with peoples real names, why is this any different?

A boat broker is more like a real estate agent then a car dealer. Car dealers own the cars (through a floor-plan or outright) and a broker is just a middle man.

If you were buying a house and took the word of the seller that the house did not have water damage or termites, signed the deal and then found out later it did. Then how would the real estate agent be responsible
