That and the which tower speaker thread are always good entertainment. The Tige haters seem to have mellowed out.

Yeah, I think the newer models have gotten a following, plus the factory toning down the "don't need ballast" drumbeat.

I did find interesting when dealers told me that they did not need ballast to surf a great wake and that the factory ballast was a waste of money. I guess there is a little wake but not a huge wake.

Actually I'm glad I got talked out of the factory ballast. For surfing I would have ripped those tanks out anyway. Tige is doing it right with the new boats.

Not getting ballast installed is the one big regret I have on our boat.

Our dealer convinced me that plumbing my own system would be cheaper, more reliable, and wouldn't use fixed hard tanks taking up storage space.

But, he didn't say (and maybe he didn't know) that it was the first year Tige put the rear ballast under floor.

I would agree the underfloor ballast is the way to go. I think before 09 doing your own was the better way to go.
