I think they must be referring to that thread with the problems of SpeedSet dropping out or failing to hold speed correctly. Seems like a lot of the 2009 boats had that issue (or, at least, the ones that did were very vocal about it). I have never had that issue...
Anyway, since they posted that a fix has been made and they are supplying it, I guess they felt it was a recommended upgrade. But I seriously doubt that Tige will pre-emptively swap it out unless you start to experience the problem first.
My 2008 had this problem it is some scary $h#t. You would adjust the speedset up or down a click and the boat would surge off or you would pull someone up, go wide open throttle thinking the speedset was on and about rip their arms off.

My boat has this intermitant, damn near impossible to duplicate speedset problem. It's not to bad if I'm driving, I can adjust quickly, it's my friends who are driving me that is scary, they don't know how to turn it off.
