Any of you guys know if Kinetik batteries are worth the extra money?
Depends on usage/demand

Dear Hoes,
My wife has suggested I grow a goatee...what would you do?
I had one for about a dozen years, which my wife did not like me to shave. She said it made me look like I belonged in high school when I was sans-goat. Now, she prefers me clean shaven. Try it out, and see if you like it, or she likes it, or if it scares young children.
It's really for my buddy. He's using Deka batteries now and was looking at the Kinetik's as a possible upgrade. He's running like 3,000 watts rms and kills the batteries pretty quickly.
Ah's are Ah's, so simply swapping to an AGM will not stop the battery bank from running down. He will still have to calculate how much play time he wants x current draw at Y volume level and see how many of size Z Kinetics he will needs. The difference is that under extremely heavy and frequent cycles, an AGM will last longer and "fade" less with use then a deep-cycle lead-acid.
Depending on budget and space, he may want to consider an alt upgrade like a Balmar, etc. But they can run a couple grand.

Not too sure that light200 quite understands what chp means about being "that guy"
Not sure he did, but he will if he rocks a pair of 80's on a Syn4

That's what I was looking for, if they actually made a difference on play time or not. He was looking at 2 of the 1800's based on their online calculator. I guess he's "that guy" at the lake. It's an Epic 23V with 8 JL 7.7's across the back of the platform, it's freakin loud when you are behind it.
