Be careful out here, I just saw this on fox news app and copied it from the Caper tribune:

Two people died Friday after a snowboarder collided with two skiers at Hogadon Ski Area on Casper Mountain.
The snowboarder crashed into a five-year-old girl and her mother as the two were stopped on a ski run, Sheriff's Lt. Mark Sellers said Saturday.
All three were taken to Wyoming Medical Center. The man and the girl were pronounced dead at the hospital. The mother, who lives in the Casper area, was injured and remained hospitalized a day after the crash. An update on her condition was not available.
Authorities have not released the identifies of anyone involved, pending notification of family members. The girl lived in the Casper area.
The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. as the snowboarder, a 22-year-old Casper man, was riding down a black-diamond run called Dreadnaught. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the sheriff's office, Sellers said.
No one involved in the crash was wearing a helmet, according to authorities.
The ski area remained open after the accident. A message left Saturday afternoon at the office of Hogadon Area Manager Gary Vantrease was not immediately returned.

Did they have any more info on the news? I was trying to figure out where on the trail the mom and kid stopped. I guess it was probably just below the crest of a hill where you should never stop unless the kid had fallen there. Also not sure how the impact killed the 2, just wrong place, wrong time I guess, and it doesn't sound like a helmet would have helped but you never know.

I started wearing a helmet a few years ago after a scary crash I had in a bowl on mammoth mountain.

Nothing yet, it is a very small local mountain and all of the trails end up at a central location, they said the boarder was coming down a dbl blk so I would guess that the mother and daughter were stopped right at the exit of the run

Thanks, just a sad weird story that got my interest, especially since I'll be teaching my daughter to ski soon. Other family members who read this story will probably try to tell me I shouldn't let my kids ski.
