Yeah, they don't have a lot of new release stuff. Most of their online movies are actually from STARZ so if you have that on DirecTv or Cable or something you can get them instantly anyway.

haha, true. The one movie that I did watch last night was a Starz presentation of Alice in Wonderland (I watched it for my boys - honest)

I guess what I really should do is break down and pay the $200 fee for the Dish Network VIP922 receiver and then get TV streamed over the internet and on my iphone. The Dish on Demand is like $6.99 per movie, but they actually have pretty late movies...
I hate going to the theatre and DoD is better than the movie rental store...
      Waiting for another good one!

Netflix streaming is pretty young, it will have more stuff added soon but i don't have it yet. I get my movies in the mail from blockbuster. It's cheaper to get blue rays from blockbuster than netflix, and when your done with the movie I can walk down to blockbuster and swap it out. But it looks like blockbuster will eventually close it's real stores and go with mail and streaming only, we'll see what happens when they come out of bankruptcy.

I have directv and like it. It was the only place to get speed HD a few years ago and they are better to deal with than the cable company. I'm going to get 2 HD DVRs in my new house and have it set up so you can watch any of the recorded shows on any of the TVs in the house. It's very much like the AT&T uverse system, it should be cool.

To think 4 years ago I had a 27" tube tv in my living room and no DVR. Then I got TiVo, loved it, had a kid and got the plasma to watch movies, then got directv which had he most HD channels. Now i don't know how i lived without it.

Heck, I still have a 32" Sony tube HDTV(flat screen) and the Directv HDDVR and love it. The picture on the tube is so good that it's hard for me to dump a tv that I paid $1,800 for and go with a newer one.

I have considered switching to DirectTV for their "whole house" DVR package. They also stream to your PC. I would do this but I have 3 receivers and I would have to spend $100 on the third. (I get the DVR and the second receiver free).

Dish Network has the VIP922 that does similar to DirectTV plus streams to the iPhone as well, but I have to spend $200 for the receiver.

Looking into AT&T U-Verse now, not sure what they offer.

Yeah, I don't usually have the AT&T options where i live, it's either one of the satellite companies or the crappy local cable. My choice in Spokane will be satellite or comcast . I wish the verizon Fios were available just for the internet speeds! I think ill stay with directv for a while since the channels will stay the same even though I'm moving, I like that. And they re-install in the new house for free when you move, I just take my box with all the saved stuff, plug it in when I get there and that is it!

Have you checked the comcast internet speeds where you are moving? I can get pretty comparable speeds to FIOS in my area through comcast but it's $99 a month so I just stick with the 16mb package that I have.

I think the residential is 15 mb download speed for 50-60 bucks but 50 mb is almost 100 bucks. Fios can get 100 mb down i think and it has the potential for much more. I just hate comcast for the 250g per month cap.
