Well, I'll tell you. No matter how many times you've made it out on a tank of gas in the past, don't count on that next time you go out. Just top the effer off!

Swimming in a chitload of algae at dusk pulling your boat with a rope definately is NOT fun...
    Waiting for another good one!

I really don't want to deal with all the chit piled up at work today. Dammit.

Have you though about adding a fuel flow meter? I had one on my last boat and I plan to add one on this boat too. My old one was from Faria and it was a small trip computer for fuel. When you filled up the tank you could tell the trip computer how much fuel was in the tank, and set a low fuel alarm, and the FF meter would count down how much fuel was left in the tank. It was very accurate. It also had a trip counter and overall counter. The first year that I installed the FF meter the totalizer told me I used 650 gal of gas from Aug through Dec.

Not until now! This sounds perfect. Easy to install? How much?

I'm usually the same way, but my buddy convinced me to go out last night, I was running late and I figured I'd only been out for a couple hours once since I filled up on Saturday and I was only going to be out for about 1.5 hrs last night. Guess it was more than a couple hours last saturday.

I found my Faria FF Meter on a website for Carb engines, it was 180 bucks or something. There was a thread on this site somewhere about FF meters for newer EFI PCM engines and they are more like 700 bucks due to the return line back to the gas tank. It requires 2 FF meters and a little better trip computer to subtract the return fuel from the fuel going into the engine to figure out the FF. I wonder now if there is a way to tap into the OD Port to get this info from the ECM? I wish FF meters just came standard on ALL boats, the gas tank gauge is always worthless.
