I figured out my budget and if I sell my house in TX I have a bigger budget than I thought. If I don't sell my house stereo upgrades are on hold. Ballast upgrade and board upgrades are a must.
Well, 'bout the only thing the MB8 and Pro80 have in common is the housing and they are both an 8" speaker. The MB8 is just an 8" speaker with no tweeter. it like to be hi-pass at about 50Hz. The Pro80 is an 8" speaker with a horn down the center of the driver. So although it's an 8" driver, the horn takes away form the overall surface area, which = less mid-bass then the MB8. But the horn (think hi-powered tweeter) gives the Pro80 what the MB8 cant deliver. It likes hi-pass and about 80Hz.

If you are just going to run one pair of speakers, and can swing it, go with the Pro80's. If you are looking to run 2 pair, then the 60's and MB8's are a great setup. They will be loud, but a much warmer sound when close in to the boat as compared to just having an HLCD speaker.

          Hey ET,
Will you shrinkwrap it, send it to the west coast and let me ask you a million questions about how to re-engineer it?

I really hate how the science of the physical world has been distorted into a political tug of war match.
