These life jackets are generally considered the most comfortable, with styles for different boating activities and sports. They are for use in calm water where there is good chance of fast rescue since they will generally not turn an unconscious person face-up. Flotation aids come in many sizes and styles. http://www.pfdma.org/choosing/types.aspx

I have never seen anyone wear a Type I or II device while skiing or boarding, which are the types that should turn you face up.

A comp vest should add bouyancy, but may not have enough to float you.
Then you have never been to the midwest

Still, I wont be caught using a USCGA any time soon. Most people for trick skiing still dont wear anything. A large majority have gone to rash guards.

Meet me at the ramp if you want a pull. That is, if you will ride behind a 'Bu!

Now I know why the company is named Tige, so there is no silly way to abbreviate the name like bu!

Yes but most Bu owners refuse to use the correct pronunciation

I hear ya Iwndr. Until I met a Tige owner, I thought the company was french or something, kinda like a fruity Ski Nautique name. I pronounced it "Tiege", with a fruity accent. I gave them a serious look when I learned they were made in TX.
