By down do you mean the number? Does the number 1 position physically mean the plate is UP and #8 means the plate is down, pushing against the water?

I keep it at 1 and bring it up to 4 or so after it planes. But I didn't touch it last night with my boy, left it at 1 or 2.
      Waiting for another good one!

With adding the weight I noticed a HUGE diff... It will barley pull out in fact I was going to start a new thread in the ballast section. I am not sure if my motor is producing less power/has and issue or if it is just the weight.
You may need to get ACME to custom tweak the pitch and cup. How much weight you running? Is that more now then what you were running when you first put on the 911?

My belt squeeks and it's a little annoying, but since I added the lead, it's been squeeking like a mofo and I was scared last night as I was the only one out on the water and if that belt broke or whatever... LOL
I would replace the belt...check the tension and keep the old was as a spare.

Do you set the tension with the alt like you do in a car?

Other way around: low numbers means the plate is down pushing on the water and creating stern lift and high numbers means plate is up and not pushing on water allowing the stern to settle in the water. "1" = ski mode and "8" = wakeboard mode. With a lot of weight when boarding, it helps to have it set to ski mode (down) for the hole-shot, then run it up as the boat reaches the riding speed.

no, there's one pulley you loosen the lock nut and turn the one behind it to tighten on a track, then lock it back down.

exactly...I could change it without thinking after every fall.

I'm sure my mechanical terms are not correct, but you will see the tensioning pulley. I believe it's the plastic one on the top left.

Ah, I was totally wrong. I was thinking the plate would go down, creating drag at #8. Either, way I would start at 1 an go to 4 or 5 so I was doing it right, just thinking about it wrong.

I've not been good to carry parts on my new boat. I always kept a complete tool kit, belt, and impeller on my Tige. I also had a spare prop and paddle wheel kit.

Are impellars expensive? Are they easy to change while out on the water?
