I think its the odd chance that a tube might submarine and that would cause a lot of drag, along with the initial startup.

The problem with tubing is the instaneous force not the sustained forces.

I know from skiing that on a slalom ski with a good pull the pylon will bend quite a bit.

We will probably put 15 hours on the boat this weekend and probably 12 will be tubing...

I honestly have never looked, but expect it's mounted to the aluminum frame that goes that goes beam to beam and supports the rear hatches. Like Zad said it's a pop up pole - you just lift and give it a quarter turn.

That's a lot of tubing hours That would make me go insane!

We have the Tige reunion at our lake this weekend. I think I'll spend most of my time motoring from my end of the lake to Tim's...about 1 to 1.5 hours each way.

LOL...the first large diameter flat tube we had I thought we were going to sink my Dad's outboard. The boys got on the very front of it and it submarined....I looked back and it was under water and they were still hanging on.

They've had one Copperhead bite this week, but not in our Troop. We've had boys there since 1999 and this it the first snake bite I've ever heard of.

Wish you could come...Chp will be there! Should be fun. We'll probably just drive the Navigator over tomorrow night as we will get in town around dinner time. I'll motor over Saturday morning early than head home an hour or so before dark. We have to head home Sunday morning...

                        That'd ruin your weekend.
