zad - are Malibu's v-drives similar to Tige in that the pylon is simply bolted through the fiberglass? Or are they extended down and bolted elsewhere?

Im not 100% sure... This is a good question for ET.

I think it has more reinforcement because of the pop up part..

LOL...keeps talking about how maneuverable a jet boat is. I've not driven one, but that's the biggest knock on those things is the LACK of maneuverability...especially when docking..

I pull the tube from the tower...what do you do?

My sister and her husband (both REALLY bad at driving boats) were looking at one of those Yamaha jet boats...that scared me...

I pull the tube from the tower...what do you do?

We've only got one small 1-person tube that the boys ride. We pull it from the pylon. If we had one of those huge 3 or 5-person jobbies, I'd be nervous.

One person on the bu crew made a good comment pointing out the fact that all tube ropes are rated for 3-6k lbs

Ours is a two person, but we pull three on it all the time...but they are kids. Using the tower keeps the rope out of the spray behind the boat...tube moves better.

I wonder what forces are generated at the pylon or tower due to tubing...compared to skiing or boarding. There are a ton of variables...

I wish...I hate pulling tubes, but we're out there for the whole family and that's about all my 6 year old daughter will do. There's days we don't even take it out....
