No. First time happened under warranty. Second time was out of warranty, but finally convinced VW corporate that such an unusual and dangerous issue was not a user-caused problem, so they paid. Third time fixed as part of a recall. Fourth time was less than one year after the previous time, so was covered under one year parts and labor guarantee. Now this time is only about 8 or 9 months after the previous. And it is about a 4 or 5 thousand dollar job.

And you still have that death machine because ............. ?

morning all. Took boat out and it runs like crap. No power take for ever to get on plan speed tops out at 27. I think I may have bad gas or water? It's pissing me off and not sure how to fix with out draining the tank. I run ethenol which is not the best deal. I don't really want to spend top dollar for 92 octane but I may start. Any thoughts?

Sounds like bad gas to me, I had that the first of the season and ran it in the driveway for about three hrs. Is it loping or backfiring?

No back firing or Loping. It idles like a dream and after you get it on plane it runs pretty good. But when you take off from a start. it sound and feels like it is loading up while under a load.

Because I keep thinking that they will actually fix it permanently. And I love the car itself (except for this one bad habit it has of leaking fuel )
