He had a callus turn loose after 5 heavy days of riding...it appeared it was healing fine, but started hurting a few days ago. Yesterday morning he had swelling and pain in three of his fingers...the doctor drained it and put him on two antibiotics. He has to be careful...

About a dozen years ago I got a nice infection in a hand. I was doing a lot of concrete testing (and was too lazy to wear protective gloves), and my skin got really dried out and cracked. Woke up one morning and my middle finger was swollen up like a sausage with little brown pockets of puss all over it. Luckily the antibiotics knocked it down quickly. And after that I was smart enough to start wearing protective gloves.

My lovely wife had her first bone-head boating accident last night. It had been raining and we werer returning to our dock. After looping the aft dockline, somehow she lost balance and slipped and fell between the dock and the boat! I felt so bad for her. She banged into the starboard trim tab and has a nasty bruised spot on her shin, and her ankle is swollen...

Ouch...that happened to my mom last year. She's older, but was stepping from the gunwale to the dock and slipped between the boat and the dock. Broke her femur. It was pretty traumatic. Your wife's lucky she didn't get a leg stuck up on the deck...
