Seems to be much more common than I remember from last year. I wonder if the fuel blends are different? More ethanol?

I leave my blower on all the time but I see that most people just run theirs before start ups.... Maybe that is wrong???
My dealer told me to do it that way on my first boat after I vapor locked once and It has never happened again since I started running the blower full time,

Vapor lock is faily common and Malibu's are actually notorious for it. Has never happened to me though....

I seem to get full power with 87 and there is no pinging or knocking, the engine should tell you if you are feeding it crappy gas.

Maybe Im wrong, but I thought that running the blower only eliminated gas vapors that could be trapped in the engine compartment. That way you dont blow yourself up. It shouldn't have anything to do with vapor lock.

It actually can lower the air temp in the engine compartment by enough to keep a vapor lock from happening....
                      It's not an optical illusion.
                      It just looks like one.....

well mine sat on the gelcoat and never chipped it, but I also placed it there gently... Not sure why you wouldn't either....

Too me it seems if somoene is just litting it swing and chip, the longer chain is just gonna mean your gonna get chips further down, since what's going to stop that person from letting it drop like before....
