When filling the cap hangs and the ridges along the edge scratch up the side. This way when filling you can put it inside so it doesnt hurt your boat. It will be great when filling up on the lake.

You are supposed to put it back on after filling. Of course the gel is gonna ding if you leave it off...

What is with all the folks who seem to have the same issue of (possibly) vapor lock?
