I don't think so, it was a few spots down when it went. Understand, the gas tank didn't go; the owner had the luck to have filled it totally, so there was no vapor in the tank to explode, only liquid fuel. The explosion was only the vapor in the engine compartment. It blew the swim/sun deck off, but the boat didn't explode..... We heard it real good though, as it happened right in front of the deck where we were hanging out...

I have never seen it happen but, I have seen the aftermath a couple times.

I would hate to hear or see that on a lake. I'll never forget seeing a jet drive take several end-to-end flips when I was young...the driver was thrown out and the boat went down.
