Just Kidding, On dingles question. is the tree structural to the Bar? How does it work with wind?
The trees are not structural. They shoot up through a hole, with clearance. The roof is adequately supported, yet the tree has room to grow. I still need to make a seal of some sort, a tentt, if you will. I am considering using a tire inner tube, tie or clamp it to the tree, and then use a polysulfide sealant to adhere it to the roofing panels.
It's not an optical illusion.
It just looks like one.....

The inner tube will work excellent we use them for seals in my line of work in areas with extremely high flow rates you should be fine with rain
