I agree...I thought his response was funny though. As I read it, I thought, "here we go again".

What trailer do you have? Do you have drum or disc brakes? If you have drum:

I just replaced the whole shootin match on one side. The first thing is to measure:

The width (diameter of the hub)
        The depth of the hub
The width of the bolt pattern from the outside of one bolt to the center of an adjacent bolt.

That will give you the hub that you need.

Usually they are standard 10" hubs, 5 (studs) on 4.5" (centers) 2.25 deep.

However, I really recommend doing the whole thing... I have to do the other side so I will do a write up on the procedure prolly in the next couple of weeks.
Dizzang! Sounds like he didn't need to go anywhere but the PW...you're the man!

I used the 1980. No brakes. I thought all I needed was the spindle diameter and bolt pattern. Can the hub diameter vary even for the same spindle size?? Roadmaster made the trailer. I talked to them and all their spindles are 1.0625. I had not even considered the depth of the hub. Thanks for the help.

No brakes is a totally different story!

The 1980 though indicates that you have an internal hub diameter of 1.98". If you are replacing your bearings too, pull the old ones and see if the model number is still readable.

I suggest pulling off the hub and taking it to a trailer place to match up. Do you have one near you?

You can also look on a site such as www.etrailer.com or www.easternmarine.com to see if there is one that matches up. What will matter is the bolt pattern.

My brother-in-law's been looking for an inboard. Trying to find something in the $25,000 or less range. Been looking at Tige's, Bu's and MC's. Kinda hard to find the "right" boat out there...for the right price....

I hate seeing all of these pics of sunken boats.
