Geez, when will I see water that is not rain next? All I want to do is go park at the lake and sit and relax and enjoy the place!
I'm with you on that. Last weekend and this weekend have baseball tournaments for the kids (still better than weddings, etc.) and won't get to the lake until the following weekend. Argh....

Can anyone steer me to a post with info about finding the spindle size and bolt pattern to order a new hub?

You could post it in the Technical section or even in the General (main) thread. It should get looked at and responded to. Come to think of it the General (main) thread gets the most traffic, so you might start there. Good luck...

That would be me I guess. That was not my intention, I was just trying to help the guy out.

Oh man, I hear ya! I'm dying to get on the water. I got a line on a fixer-upper toon, but I need to find a trailer to barrow in order to go get it 2.5hr away.

What size bearing buddy do you use? If yours is a "standard" 1980 that means you have a 1.98" hub.

What trailer do you have? Do you have drum or disc brakes? If you have drum:

I just replaced the whole shootin match on one side. The first thing is to measure:

The width (diameter of the hub)
                            The depth of the hub
The width of the bolt pattern from the outside of one bolt to the center of an adjacent bolt.

That will give you the hub that you need.

Usually they are standard 10" hubs, 5 (studs) on 4.5" (centers) 2.25 deep.

However, I really recommend doing the whole thing... I have to do the other side so I will do a write up on the procedure prolly in the next couple of weeks.
