Your argument is tantamount to suggesting our cars run on sparks from spark plugs. They dont. Cars run on the burning of fuel, not on sparks. The burning of fuel is instigated by the spark.

A pressure can be used to initiate a siphon process but not required. I can take a completely filled hose, filled by gravity pouring, and then introduce it to a vessel of water and create a siphon without ever exerting a compressive force.

It can't BECAUSE of pressure. The force on the surface of water is the same for all water at the surface, in the vessel, in the tube, and outside the vessel. One would have to have a negative pressure in the tube to instantaneously start a siphon, and since the tube would necessarily have to be openon both ends, there is no way to create a pressure gradient.
