Your argument is tantamount to suggesting our cars run on sparks from spark plugs. They dont. Cars run on the burning of fuel, not on sparks. The burning of fuel is instigated by the spark.
A pressure can be used to initiate a siphon process but not required. I can take a completely filled hose, filled by gravity pouring, and then introduce it to a vessel of water and create a siphon without ever exerting a compressive force.Last edited by philwsailz; 05-12-2010, 02:33 PM.It's not an optical illusion.
