Say you have a hose coming out of the top of a vented vessel that is almost full of water.

the hose's open end is hanging lower than the vessel. the water in the hose is at the same exact height as the water in the vessel. The rest of the hose is full of air.

You apply a force to the system causing water to flow in the tube until it comes out the open end below the vessel. At that point, the vessel and hose are exactly analogous to a vessel with a hole in the bottom. With the exception of resistive friction in the tube, (which can be calculated using Reynold's Numbers) given a similar hole diamter to hose diamemter the vessel will drain at the same rate.

I can make a siphon go up as long as the bottom end is below the top end.
For an analogy to make sense given your proposition, consider a roller coaster train. Yes, the end car of the train is pulled uphill at the top of the hills due to the rest of the train's falling due to gravity.

In most cases the top end is above the bottom end

So your saying if the siphon was based on air pressue there would be no force needed in order to get the process started

yeah you can do that, but gravity is doing the work...

No, I am saying it is due to gravity.

                              Gravity is a good thing.
