Do you have a smart phone? I use my BlackBerry phone as a wireless modem. Speed isn't the greatest, but seems to work pretty well overall.

This is exacctly how I log on for my laptop, but my wife just bought a Dell mini laptop as a part of a charity auction. Nevermind that I would have been able to get a Dell netbook for $100.00 cheaper with a rate plan same as an air card at my ATT store, but that is beside the point...

Anyway, she is pleading about wanting to get on the internet, so an aircard at this point is the cheapest option, sicne she already bought the darned computer, (it only has an 8 gig hard drive!)

She hates my setup; thinks it is too slow, and besides, I am nervous about her "green-ness" with regards to spam, phishing and stuff, so our household finances can stay on my computer where they are much more safe. She can surf away on her machine, and I don't need to worry about infections on my work or home PC.

Or, you know what, if I could finally convince here into ditching the 80's motorolla razr, we could get here into a phone that could act as a modem. One less line....... Same data plan....

Oh - Mead is still a huge lake with a whole lot of surface area. But the constantly changing obstacles make me nervous. I did whack the prop once on a rock that was not a problem just a week or two previously. The other thing that sucks is the launch ramps. They don't have any prepared ramps for this level. Launching last summer was from temporary metal grate ramps that were at a very shallow angle (have to back the rig WAY back into the water to get enough depth to float)...and there are only about a third the number of available lanes as a few years ago.

Meanwhile, Powell is filling up?

I really should get on that thread and start b!tching more. I could start Water Wars.
