We have some Black Bears....do you know how to tell if you are too close to a bear?

You use the "rule of thumb"......hold your arm out straight and use your thumb to cover the bear - if you see any bear you are too close!

They told our Scout at outdoor training a few years ago. They also told them when picking a buddy in bear country to choose one they could out run.
