Well he cancelled sure thing developmental leases in Alaska where we have infrastructure and opened up exploration leases of the east coast where there is no infrastructure so at the end of the day it will be needed but it will be little to no help in the near future. Thats if any of the majors want to take a chance on paying billions setting up shop offshore the east coast when he can change his mind at any time......

Post to start the holiday early! First I've got to finish my expense report.

More progress on the deck remodel at the lake place. Got most of the old sub-structure and all of the old railing off of the part under repair. Also removed all the rickety supports that were originally set on the retaining wall, (telephone poles) but eventually ended up only holding them up in the air.

I am reviewing what is there at this point, to see if I am done with cutting, or if I need to go in there and remove any more material. What is there seems pretty solid, except for a few concreted in poles that need replaced.

At that hanging corner, the next step is do dig a footing base, (under water), install one of those concrete-pouring tubes, set the 5x5 corner post, and concrete it in. That is the key event that takes the project into a forward moving repair position. I wil likely dig and concrete the corner pole, hopefully Saturday.

Looks like you are making good progress Phil and still work ahead, but you are going to enjoy that a lot. I like how close you are to the water and the trees in the deck are nice.

I am dancing a real fine line. Lake Regs say not deck shall extend over the water. I am going to set my front poles just in front of the t-phone poles, 5-inches further out than previously, so that the supports are in earth, rather than on teh poles, and supporting the poles..... I am pretty sure I am stretching the limts out over the water as far as I can. Good ting it was that far out there already...

I need to find some crusher gravel to mix with some quick-crete to dump in there behind the poles. I would put landscaping fabric in there too, but it is too late...
