Guapo: Sorry for jumping in late on this but the backlit LEDs have better overall pic quality over the edgelit LEDs. If you can find a Samsung UN55B8500 buy it. We purchased one a month ago and could not be happier. (Did tons of research, AVS Forums & HighDefJuunkies) You will want to have it professionally calibrated to really get the best picture. They have the TVs set up way to harsh for the show room floors once you have them home.
